Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I primarily work on devops tasks including creating dashboards for monitoring system metrics and logs, writing infrastructure as code for our cloud computing, implementing security checks into our git pipelines, and debugging issues our products face.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy what I am doing. I find working alongside the uni degree makes the topics in second and third year easier to understand and grasp as the work crosses over with what you work on in the company.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed almost everything I know through this apprenticeship. I started only knowing Visual Basic programming language and a bit of Python. All the concepts of devops, i have picked up though working on daily.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I have found the modules and study days to be organised well but there isn't a clear understanding of the End Point Assessment and Synoptic Project.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager and mentors have always made time for me to go over stuff I am struggling with or need clarity on. I learn so much from the people I work with and always feel like I can ask for help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The majority of my lecturers make time to support me with any questions I may have. some parts of the apprenticeship programme haven't been explained too well and causes confusion.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
For my role in devops, I found the devops module we did through our training provider didn't focus on teaching the core concepts of devops. I sometimes find the teaching assignments to be distracting from the module deliverables.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yunex has a large number of young people who arrange multiple activities outside of work. Within Yunex, I have participated in Green Power racing, our annual football tournament in Germany, and walking football, pool, and table tennis during my lunch breaks.
