The role includes a schedule set mainly across the factory, but also outside of it. A day to day basis can include constructing wire pieces and road side units, for example.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the experience of the job and the ability to learn and earn whilst working.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Skills I have learnt include constructing different materials such as road side units and wire pieces, using tools such as drills and rivet guns.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship is split into plenty of different sections which allows us to get a full experience of being an engineer. It is also well structured in terms of the college course which is split into sections too which gives us plenty of time to complete work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Our employer gave us plenty of advice within the induction week as to the details of the apprenticeship. People in the company are friendly and willing to help, as well as there being support from managers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Professors offer plenty of support at College with course work and engineering related questions. College assessors provide support with staying track on our goals.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification helps with the role through teaching us about the materials we are using, such as bearings.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The Greenpower Challenge is an extra curricular activity that we take part in at work, where we work as a team to construct a go kart and compete against other teams at Greenpower events.
