Overall Rating

4.8 /5

The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!

4.5/5 - Overview of Role
5/5 - Skills Development
4.6/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Software engineering involves working on various tasks depending on what team you're in. This involves talking to colleagues to understand fully what you're being asked of (if needed).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy it a lot. Some modules at uni (not job related) are a bit boring and very straight forward if you come directly out of A level computer science. Though that's really just the first year so to be expected. Otherwise very enjoyable, time flies by!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes lots of new skills. From being confident in meetings to presenting. Learning new technologies and how to use/implement them in certain areas.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured with plenty of flexibility especially when it comes to summer. You're not held hostage by university - they give you plenty of breathing room to go on holiday etc. Yunex themselves are very flexible too.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Plenty of support is offered by the employer. Either mental support if needed or support related to current job tasks. Great ELT (Entry level talent) support all around the business.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Mostly good support. Some modules have not so helpful module leaders but generally fantastic support with quick response times in my experience!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
To be honest, its very much so the other way where the job role helps the training. Because the first year of university is fairly straight forward and is mostly A level work the job role helps a lot. However later on there are a few times I can recall where some university topics are helpful in the job role, eg. talks on databases.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes plenty of events. Including an all expenses paid for trip to Germany for a football tournament.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Yunex Traffic to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yunex is a very inviting and accepting business with a plethora of opportunities. Very flexible working conditions (ie, working from home or taking a day off when something important is coming up etc.) and most importantly everyone is friendly and offers support to ELTs (entry level talents) with a brilliant working environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Yunex Traffic?
Don't be too hung up if you don't have the exact skills, for example applying for a software engineering apprenticeship role but you feel as if you don't code or work on your skills consistently - the job will train you up! Simply apply, be honest & be yourself.
