Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day-to-day basis I am responsible for answering calls on a support desk, helping end-users with queries and IT issues, and escalating issues I cannot resolve to 2nd and 3rd line teams as needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme a lot, my mangers have been very supportive of me and my work and have given me time to develop my skills alongside my daily duties.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my ongoing professional customer communication, as well as honing my troubleshooting skills, as well as improving my technical skills when it comes to IT support.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Despite some teething issues initially I have settled in nicely into the team and been given access to my essential systems without delay, and have been given regular updates regarding changes to my work, and updates to ongoing systems, and so on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot! They have been very supportive of my needs and my workload, and value open communication so I am not afraid of contacting them regarding any issues that occur, personal or work wise.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Again, I have received a lot of support from them regarding this, they have given me time to learn and develop my skills as needed, knowing that the apprenticeship comes first.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Due to the work contract I am associated with, I am not actively able to apply a lot of the knowledge (predominately technical) as I do not have access to certain systems. Nevertheless, as part of my apprenticeship I have been given opportunities to explore these skills in other capacities, such as joining a different team for a day to have a tour of what they do, and how my skills could be applied in future roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are! I am currently involved in a team-building exercise involving walking long distances, accruing 'steps' each day towards a greater total, and we are in genuinely friendly competition with others teams in the company.

Would you recommend Node4 to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They are a continually developing company with a mind for organisation and structure, without sacrificing the human element of being a part of a community that knows to not be 'always-on' in terms of work, the atmosphere is relaxed but focused, and I've yet to have any interpersonal issues with any of the staff here. The work is nuanced and interesting, and I'm always given opportunities to learn.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Node4?
Go in with an open-mind, be willing to learn and accept systems may change, but also to understand the value of communication, if something isn't to your liking do speak up, there are opportunities for development and everyone in company has that in mind.
