Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Programming in a collaborative work environment. Solving problems and discussing topics with co-workers. Plenty of meetings, overseeing my own projects, and working on embedded systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy ti very much, everyone I work with is very friendly, the managers are easy to get on with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, I have learnt plenty of new programming languages. I have been educated on the way businesses use tools and competitive advantage.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
The company is very good, support is always available. However the university lets it down a bit. The course I was put on was not well structured at all. I ended up in modules that have no relevance to my job e.g. Data Analysis, Machine Learning (I am a firmware engineer).
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There was a lot of support available from the apprentice manager at the company
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Overall I would say that the support from the university was "Okay". In my case I had a disability that the training provider new about but did not offer support until I was in third year.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
There were some transferable skills, however I feel this score could have been higher if the modules were relevant to my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities at Yunex to get involved in things such as football games, lunchtime games of pool, after work events, and much more.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Yunex Traffic to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yunex Traffic is a great place to work if you’re into tech that actually makes a difference. The projects are interesting, the team’s supportive, and there’s loads of room to learn and grow—especially if you’re just starting out. People are happy to help, and the work you do genuinely has an impact on how cities run. Plus, the work-life balance is decent too.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Yunex Traffic?
Make yourself stand out in interviews. When I joined we had to do a group interview where we had to design and plan a smart car park. I took the lead on that day and I believe it was one of the main reasons I got offered the job over some of the other applicants.
