Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Training new staff and existing staff on Moving and handling this will include how to move a patient safely with or without equipment, showing staff how the equipment works and what safety checks must be completed before using the equipment, how to look after ourselves while completing these tasks, making staff aware of policies and procedure and also the legislations, who they can contact should they have problems on the wards with the patient or equipment
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy learning new ideas and new tools and although I had a bad start I am now enjoying the program.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

yes I have learnt many ways skills the I can incorporate to my training such as Good communication skills, Teamwork, Time management, Practical learning, Responsibility, how to adapting and learning and Professionalism.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It can vary a bit depending on a few things such as its all online which for some people may find hard if they are not used to using a computer. The platform for my Smart assessor does not always work so well and not easy to navigate. The training plan some times changes and get a little confusing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Employers are very supportive and encouraging and help me put in to practice what I have learnt or help me with some things I may not know. I'm also given my allocated time every week to complete my hours for the program.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I do have a lot of support but its always online, but for me i prefer face to face.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The new skills my training provider have taught helps me in my role as I can adapt my training and understand that people learn in many different ways.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Why?
I have spent many years with the trust in various roles and have been allowed to develop my skills and knowledge in different areas. There are also many staff events that you can get involved with and whole trust works like a team.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust?
Please follow policies and procedures and take onboard the legislations and think about why they are there. When dealing with the public think of them as one of your relatives and how you would like them treated. They must have care and compassion and be polite even if they are wrong and also be honest.
