Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Handling, manipulating and communicating key data to solve business challenges. Using machine learning, statistical modelling, and data visualisation techniques to provide intelligence and drive data-driven decisions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Hands on work combined with my apprenticeship learning with BPP has been thoroughly enjoyable. The work I complete feels meaningful and impactful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Creating, evaluating and productionising machine learning models. Using Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit libraries) to perform analysis, correlation and machine learning. Creating Power BI dashboards and communicating with stakeholders. Using SSIS to create ETL pipelines to move and transform data into the data warehouse. SQL to extract and transform data for analysis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Projects necessary to complete assignment coursework has been delivered by my line-manager. This provides amble opportunities to tackle the challenges required by my Apprenticeship. An initial onboarding training period was organised, helping to get me up-to-speed with the functioning of the department.

BPP have provided a well-developed program to work towards gaining my qualifications. A wide variety of necessary Data Science skills are covered, making me confident in performing my job's duties.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The opportunity to attend Data Science conferences, such as Data Hub, are offered. We also have occasional social activities outside of work.
