Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role involves serving customers and creating food according to their orders. As a crew trainer, I ensure standards are kept high and training needs are met. I can be in charge of a new crew members training, or I can be used to aid the shift manager in their role and run the area.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed more confidence in myself. Being a new crew trainer, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to complete the apprenticeship without difficulty, but I have been able to complete most of it with ease. I also have learnt why it's important to understand the background of products and how this benefits us as staff, and customers

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Aptom is well organised, knowing that I can look at each month and see what's upcoming. I do wish that it would open the month you are working on, rather than my first month and then having to scroll down to my current month of working (currently 6+ months)
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I don't receive a lot of support, unless I ask for it speficially.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
[This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is often in contact and checks in each month as a minimum. If I contact her, she'll often be back with an answer within 24 hours.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I know so much more about the background of my job and what it takes to be a good crew trainer now, than when I started. I have a deeper knowledge and confidence in my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
As a whole, they will support you with an apprenticeship. The level 2 is very apt foe the work we carry out
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
It doesn't matter if you don't get it correct on the first try, keep going! It's taken me 4 years to get the confidence to say "I'm good at my job", and now I'm working towards a promotion less than a year after becoming a crew trainer!
