Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am involved in liaising with our 3rd party agency, typically surrounding events, email campaigns, webcasts, and other content. I have began working as an intermediary between my channel team and the social and editorial teams. I'm also involved in gathering creative assets for campaigns. I assist the editorial team in constructing charts that are published as a part of thought leadership pieces.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy it a lot; I'm getting great exposure to different facets of the department. This is beneficial as I can gain experience across the workforce and develop various skills. The team are also very supportive.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Developing excel skills
Project and time management
Communication skills
Problem solving

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The fluidity of the course took some getting used to, especially as I've mainly had academic experience of set deadlines and module structures. However, due to the dynamic nature of the workplace it is useful to be able to apply the current workplace activity to particular modules/projects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support, particularly from my line manager. It is always iterated that I can ask questions and seek support whenever I feel the need to. I also have regular catchups within my team and we discuss task prioritisation and general well-being.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
It is understood that I must complete a certain amount of hours working towards my qualification. Although, some busier weeks, I (rarely) don't complete as much as I intend to but I can make up for this over the next week. Especially as Man Group enter a busier period, I'm reminded to prioritise apprenticeship work and ask for support in managing workplace duties when required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Very well. It allows me to consider methods of working more efficiently and effectively to fulfil my role. The content that I consume from the modules also supplies me with more ideas of what to research and how I can direct my efforts to wider learning. Seeing what works well, i.e. from case studies, allows me to bring these attributes to my team and do my best to perform well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are social activities that are held across the month and opportunities for professional development/wider learning. For example, informative talks are held. There are a good amount of team events too that allow for team-building and socialising. In fact, I have been selected to attend a professional networking event on behalf of the company next month.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Man Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The work culture is very positive and pleasantly surprised me upon joining Man Group. A work/life balance is embraced and the team help each other out where needed. The facilities at the company are also very good. It is easy to reach out to people to set up intro's, ask questions, and to network.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Man Group?
Highlight all of your good qualities and illustrate a zealous attitude towards learning. Being collaborative and communicative is vital. If you are looking for a dynamic workplace (that can also be fast-paced), then I would recommend Man Group. There is an overall positive atmosphere at the company.
