Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an Information Security and Network Technician apprentice, my role involves supporting the organization cybersecurity and network infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring network security alerts, assisting with firewall management, conducting vulnerability scans, and helping maintain secure network configurations. I also participate in incident response procedures, help desk support for security-related issues, and assist in implementing security controls across our systems. Regular tasks include updating security documentation, participating in system audits, and learning about emerging cyber threats and defense strategies.

Very structured, I have my learning course days in a bulk of a week where I work at home and just focus on my apprenticeship whilst being on a live call.

Constant support is received from my employers, any question I ask is always answered with a great explanation and never feel a doubt!
