Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Technical Sourcer, my role involves reviewing CVs, sourcing candidates via LinkedIn, and working closely with multiple Talent Partners to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process on a day basis. I also oversee T-level recruitment, which includes collaborating with colleges, coordinating face-to-face interviews, and supporting the onboarding process.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my apprenticeship programme. Not only do I have the opportunity to work in an incredibly supportive environment, thanks to my manager and colleagues, but I’m also encouraged to express my ideas and speak up when I spot areas for improvement. Most rewarding of all, I get to make a real difference in people’s lives by helping them take a step toward their dream roles.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Throughout my apprenticeship journey, I have developed both soft and hard skills. On the soft skills side, I learned how to communicate effectively within a corporate environment and how to inspire young talent at the start of their careers. On the hard skills side, I had the opportunity to undertake training in strategic recruitment, talent identification, and other key areas that now enable me to recruit top talent with confidence and precision.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well-organised, with training delivered on a fixed schedule, ensuring consistency and structure. Clear instructions are provided outlining expectations both during and after each training session such as assignment completion. Progress reviews are held every three months to discuss updates, assess performance, and identify areas for improvement.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I’ve received strong support from my employer, who has provided a clear and structured path for my development. An Apprentice Programme Induction is delivered and there is a Credly badge to showcase your milestone achievement. If you need support you can come to the Early Careers Team. I have also been assigned a dedicated mentor who guides me throughout my journey, offering continuous support and advice. Our monthly catch-ups help ensure I stay on top of my daily responsibilities and successfully complete all tasks required by the training provider.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my training provider as I work toward my qualification. It has been clearly communicated that support is always available when needed. We’re encouraged to stay after lessons to ask additional questions, and we also have the option to schedule one-on-one sessions with our tutor for more personalised guidance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification plays a key role in helping me perform more effectively in my role. It equips me with valuable knowledge and practical skills that I apply and continue to develop in my day-to-day tasks. Upon completing the programme, I will achieve a Level 3 Recruitment Consultant qualification and become eligible for professional registration with the Institute of Recruitment Professionals or the Institute of Recruiters.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I actively take part in a variety of extra-curricular activities at work. Pearson offers several networking and wellbeing initiatives, including unique experiences like puppy therapy, which recently took place at our London office. I’ve also had the opportunity to attend multiple conferences, such as the T-Level Ambassador Conference, where I was able to network with like-minded employers who share similar values and a passion for supporting early careers.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Pearson to a friend?
Yes
Why?
One of the key reasons I would recommend Pearson Plc is the exceptional support you receive from day one. The apprenticeship induction provides a comprehensive full-day session at one of our offices, where you gain essential knowledge to ensure you're fully prepared for the entire programme. Even after completing the programme, Pearson continues to offer support, helping you apply for other apprenticeship opportunities and or giving you the chance to apply for a permanent role within the company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson?
One piece of advice I would offer to anyone applying to Pearson is to reflect on how your own values and beliefs align with ours. We are passionate advocates for continuous learning, believing that life is a lifelong journey of growth and development. When your values align with ours, it becomes easier to engage with and excel in your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
