My role in admin involves invoicing and communicating with customers, there's a lot to learn so it's best to be patient with yourself, expect mistakes and grow from them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

In all honesty I don't think I enjoy the programme as much as I could. One thing I would have appreciated is a bit more clarity at the start regarding the structure of the apprenticeship. Initially, I was under the impression that it would mainly involve on-the-job admin work, so I wasn’t expecting to be enrolled in formal courses, that are based around business, or to have exams as part of the program. It would’ve been helpful to have that information upfront, just to better prepare and understand what the role would involve.

I have learned basic invoicing, still learning. But now have a higher understanding of what we do.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

In terms of the learning side, I haven’t had many of the monthly 1-hour business lessons yet, but the ones I’ve had so far needed to be rescheduled. Lessons tend to be booked back to back with other learners, which can make them feel a bit rushed and doesn’t always leave enough time for questions or note taking.
On the workplace side, there are regular meetings and progress reviews, which is helpful. A development plan has been mentioned during discussions, but I haven’t seen a formal version of it yet, so it’s been a little unclear how things are meant to progress over time.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Training rooms are booked to ensure privacy during Teams lessons as well as a training laptop being provided. You are permitted as much time as you need to complete course work and training. The amount of Off The Job Hours has been mentioned, It would be beneficial to have more support in trying to meet the monthly goal.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The learning materials are easily accessible and they provide extra help to those with learning disabilities or mental health issues. They have options to speak with someone if needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I’m not entirely sure it’s directly applicable to the tasks I perform daily, such as invoicing. The business course seems to focus more on broader concepts that don’t necessarily tie into my specific responsibilities. While I understand the value of business knowledge for future career development, it doesn’t always feel relevant to the practical aspects of my current job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Every now and then, they'll do a day in the life competition on the shared social network. A Competition on who can do a plank for the longest. They do a being brilliant award, where you can nominate a colleague who you feel deserves recognition.
