I have improved on my confidence within my role through public speaking at events I have attended.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I work with a lot of individuals within the organisation who have been patient and have been so kind with natural empathy. They have helped me become more confident within my role by seeing my potential.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have worked on time management within my role and have improved on it, including planning travel and getting to places on time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think our programme is very structured and organised as they are a very open organisation and take on people's issues with the utmost importance and responding within the quickest amount of time. They have said they have areas to improve on and I think it is good for an organisation to admit their faults in order to resolve them.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive help with any enquiry I have. They support me to grow out of comfort zone and be more interactive with customers and staff.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have received help from my training provider when doing the necessary courses in order to pass my qualification. They have been patient, understanding and empathetic especially when I am struggling with a task.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It teaches me about my organisation by gaining more knowledge on what we do and what to do in terms of my role as I am customer facing. Also by gaining this knowledge I have gained the confidence on taking the initiative by doing the task needed on my own accord or asking for help if necessary and not letting my social anxiety make me scared to do so.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have attended several events within my organisation and they have been very helpful and kept me busy which I like. We work as a team at every event through time management and organisation.

Would you recommend Sandwell Council to a friend?

Yes

Why?

They are a very diverse, inclusive and equal opportunity council. Their plan to help the Sandwell Residents and taking their reviews into account is what a council needs to do. They are a very welcoming council and do not discriminate and no matter your age, whether you are neurodiverse or neurotypical and any religion or gender/pronouns. Sandwell Council welcomes individuals of all backgrounds.
I know this because I am a neurodiverse individual who meets a lot of individuals who are also neurodiverse.
