Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Carrying out daily balancing, including checking/resolving errors. Dealing with financial/transactional queries. Carrying out month end reconciliations, including completing balance sheet recs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've enjoyed gaining a better understanding within the financial sector. It's good to see how I fit into it, and how the programme can be used to help my progression.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've gained a more in depth financial understanding, which has helped with all aspects of my job. Currently I've learnt a new skills relating to VAT/Tax and financial preparation/reports.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

So far, I've experience a high level of structure within the programme. I've received all text studies beforehand and everything has been booked in with ease.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Support from employer has been extensive. I've been provided with the time from work to complete new learning. Management have also provided me with plenty of opportunities for new learning and liaised with other departments to provide me with new learning opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support provided has been good so far. Training material and online material is extensive. Contact support has also been available for any queries etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification provides more knowledge/understanding for my day to day work. It also gives me a better insight to work carried out by other areas of the business. I feel the qualification will help support my progression within the finance sector.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Work provide monthly lunch and learning - with the capability to reach out to colleagues within other areas of Finance within the business.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
Don't be afraid to show a keen interest in career progression. Ask what opportunities and development options would be available in the role. Although it benefits you, the business will also benefit from colleagues with increased learning and knowledge.
