I am a registered mental health nurse working on a locked rehab ward with training in dementia and challenging behaviours. Day to day we work with patients who have moved down the system from low/medium secure services to help them move back into the community.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

When i did the degree apprenticeship this was good for me as i had a home to pay for so i would not have been able to do this in any other route other than apprenticeship.

I found that the structure of the programme was not very good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My ward manager was great at the time however it sometimes felt that as we were students we were often left to our own devices and not with a structured plan.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The university both Huddersfield and Leeds Beckett were not very good.

On the ward the staff are great however over the years when the management has changed you can see how the hospital and activities at the hospital has gone down hill.
