Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I make up part of the management team within store and the South West region as well as the South West Recruitment expert. I set targets and lead my team to ensure we are running compliantly and meeting the stores targets.
I lead by example when performing my travel advisor role - selling holidays, amending holidays, selling ancillary (extras such as insurance, car hire, holiday extras, excursions), managing social media, dealing with foreign exchange - ordering, buying/ selling.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have found this beneficial in every way with my role really understanding the 'whys' of the things I do. I have enjoyed learning the whole process and building a support network with my coach and other apprentices

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Managing a team - I have gained confidence in effectively communicating with the team in all environments (in difficult situations), understanding the importance of feedback.
I have an understanding on SWOT analysis, learning plans and how they can be effective.

Great. Its good to have the different modules so you can work through them in a order.

Lots. My manager is very supportive and encouraging.

My coach is always at the end of a message when help is needed. I feel we have built a rapport with each other and enjoy having our catch up to help push me on with my work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

With TUI there are a number of groups you are able to join on teams. I'm personally in a Book group with shares book recommendation, book discussions.

Why?
Our role is all about putting customers in there happy place the work environment both instore and virtually using Teams is great. You always feel supported with someone you can reach out too. The benefits of the role are a great incentive too (concessions off holidays, late seats and more). The company really care about wellbeing too
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?
To really show your personality were looking for people who are really passionate and have the customer at heart.
