Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I help manage the restaurant. I run shifts, areas, and encourage crew to deliver excellent customer service. I do this by setting a good example of leading in hospitality, with a people-first approach, whilst also balancing focusing on our business metrics to ensure we’re focusing on profitability and success.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it a lot. I love how it’s just a bonus thing to do on top of my regular job, and i find the lessons and content both enjoyable and interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my people skills, and I think one of the best ways this was done was through my ‘customer-profiling’ section, where I learnt what different people are likely to require. Similar skills can be used to get the most out of my team at work too!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Highly. It organises the learning by a breakdown into months, which can make it a lot less overwhelming, and helps you navigate how in front of behind you are on your learning, which I found highly motivating.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A fair amount actually. I get emails every 6-8 weeks asking how on track I am, asking if they can support in any other ways. They provide ‘HIG’ chats about it, and ensure I’m paired up with someone who’s done it before, so I can ask them any questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Tones. My trainer in particular, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], is so helpful, and is always willing to help in the best ways possible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Hugely. It allows me to see the bigger picture, and thus think about things from another perspective.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I help organise and run quite a few of our charity events at work.

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I like my job. It’s reliable, and I’m getting paid for my qualifications.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
Um.. maybe just make sure you’re prepared to work hard- it can be a stressful environment at times- you have to be able to deal with that well by persevering through it,
