Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm a crew trainer, I train new employees how to do their job and I also coach existing employees to make sure they're performing at their best.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy being able to learn all there is to know about my job where it comes to customer service, business management as well as types of communication. I also enjoy learning about the polices that affect my job all the time and being able to implement them.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt more on how to communicate effectively, I have also learnt how to deal with confrontation effectively.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I would say that it's quite mixed in terms of how my store prioritizes my learning experience during the apprenticeship. I'm supposed to be allocated 8 hours a month of learning so that I'm up to date with all the tasks I'm set.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I receive a moderate amount of support with my learning, however I do feel that my apprenticeship is forgotten about or not prioritized in terms of the grand scheme of how the business is ran.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
my training provider has been amazing with the support that I've been given, Gemma makes sure I understand the assignments and is always ready to explain things well for me if I don't understand something.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification helps me think about my job role in a more wider picture, I'm trained to view customer interactions with a bigger concept and am able to use what I learn practically in my job every day
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
sometimes there will be crew events every few months, but nothing else other than those.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think it's a great place to work if you have the drive and passion to do well. It has taught me so much confidence with every day interactions that I otherwise would have struggled with.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
Keep breathing through the tough times, the satisfaction you gain from good teamwork and helping people helps make the hard work worth it.
