Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I’m a Performance Marketing Apprentice, primarily focused on driving leads and achieving measurable results for our company. We run various marketing activities that contribute to these numbers.
My role involves researching events and evaluating their fit for our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), managing social media, and creating email nurture campaigns tailored to different industry prospects. I also handle Salesforce reporting, tracking key metrics at the end of each month to assess campaign performance. Additionally, I collaborate closely with the sales team to refine our marketing strategies and optimize results.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the combination of on-the-job and off-the-job training. The apprenticeship aspect allows me to learn new concepts that I can apply directly to my role. Being around individuals with fresh perspectives also influences the way I work and helps me see things from different angles.
Sage has pushed me out of my comfort zone by exposing me to experiences beyond my apprentice role, giving me a better understanding of the corporate world. Engaging with different teams has also helped me develop my communication skills and broaden my professional outlook.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Every day, I learn how to draw meaningful conclusions from data to enhance performance and optimise workflows. I also support my campaign managers with various tasks, broadening my experience and improving my organisational skills as I manage multiple responsibilities.
Additionally, I develop language skills by understanding product messaging and tailoring communication for different prospects. I also help run online webinars, which involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I feel my mentor is incredibly helpful in organizing weekly and fortnightly team calls to discuss new marketing concepts and theories. There are also regular check-ins to review areas for improvement and highlight what’s going well.
I find this crucial not only for my professional growth but also for my personal development, as it provides valuable guidance and continuous learning opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I’ve been incredibly lucky with the leadership in my role, especially my manager and my team. Their leadership style is welcoming, comfortable, and supportive. More importantly, they genuinely want to see me grow and develop. They assign tasks that challenge and push me, which helps me succeed and continue progressing in my role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As I mentioned before, we have 12-week check-ins, which are incredibly helpful in identifying areas where I can further develop my skills, as well as recognizing the progress I’ve already made.
Additionally, my mentor is extremely supportive and responsive. She is always available to review my work, provide valuable feedback, and offer tips whenever I need assistance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that it’s really helping me understand how to be a marketer. By grasping different concepts and theories, I can apply them to my role every day, which makes me more strategic in my approach.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have an initiative with the Sage Foundation where we get 5 paid days to volunteer. This allows us to connect with a variety of people and gain new experiences.
I’ve also been involved in multiple events that I’ve actively helped organize, which has provided great networking opportunities across all age groups and allowed me to branch out beyond my immediate team.
