Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Mediating agency/internal team relationship through weekly meetings and emails. Managing website content execution - briefing, approvals, and working with webmaster to push live. Ad-hoc sampling campaign management. Hosting monthly sessions with brands to discuss e-commerce performance. Leading a small team for internal learning and development newsletters.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme quite a bit, the team is supportive, engaging, and always ready to help me reach my best potential whether that means assigning new projects as learning opportunities or helping me manage my workload if things get too much.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt project management skills, and developed my organisation and time management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Well structured, I think 2x 18 month rotations are appropriate.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I recieve a good amount of support, with weekly 121s and ad-hoc meetings as needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
London South Bank University offers subpar teaching and at times a hostile learning environment. Aside from 1-2 lecturers who will go above and beyond to offer support, the University is not fit for purpose. That being said, the teachers who are actually on the apprenticeship team that have our progress reviews and help us reach our EPA gateway are extremely helpful with working towards our qualifications. The problem lies with most module lecturers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
My role helps me at University, University does not help me perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are social activities, sports, mentoring, networking events available throughout the year and across all office sites and teams.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company culture is amazing, I feel supported and pushed to be my best. There is also a wealth of opportunities no matter what team you are in.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Be yourself, be authentic. Show your passion - the apprenticeship is there for you to learn the skills, they don't expect you to be a professional already, just be hungry to learn. Research the company ahead of your application.
