Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
A digital learning designer creates learning solutions, such as training on how to operate a forklift, or how to use AI. The role involves negotiating with stakeholders, considering your users and their needs, and making a creative solution that can be iterated and improved on using data and feedback.
Learning solutions could involve a trainer who delivers a talk to clients, it could be an animated video, a podcast, or a simple tutorial guide.
If you are interested in user experience, graphic design, art, psychology and/or web design, this would be a great role for you.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme, I have a good work/life balance, I work with interesting and skilled people and I always have support.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my skills in video editing, animation and graphic design. My soft skills in communication, presenting and negotiating have also improved. To fulfil this role, you must be great at empathising, communication and team work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is fairly new, so there are some tweaks needed to be made about the structure, however it is still great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer gives so much support and I would be at a loss without it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My Learning provider is great. As my programme is fairly new, there are some growing pains but nothing serious.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My learning provider is able to provide in depth theory which helps me to perform better in the role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The BBC offers so much in terms of social events, networking events and opportunities to contribute to your place of work.
