Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Fitting rooms/returns team. Ensuring to count items coming in and out of the fitting rooms and issuing a tag as required.All returned items are processed onto the appropriate rails/totes and returned to the shop floor in a timely manner
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

All modules are interesting, some more then others, if definitely gets your brain thinking . There is always someone to help from aptem if needed and I've had plenty of help from my managers, I throughly enjoy doing my apprenticeship and learning new things

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed my customer service skills. Learnt new skills of, ordering, click and collect, using tablets, new reducing gun, commercial walks, duty manager role. Also behind the scenes, operations, health and safety, policy and procedures, finance, cleaning products and diversity and inclusion.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised although it helped me to plan ahead, my manager gave me set hours and days for my off the job training and I managed to go over the hours that was needed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots of support, suppored my off the job training by giving me jobs that were relevant to the module I was doing. Different managers helped with answering and explaining my many questions on different areas.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot of support if and when needed, always get pointed in the right direction and also helps with functional skills revision.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It's definitely a confidence builder, I'm alot more confident in dealing with complaints from customers. Also learning about how the business is run makes you understand how things work on the shop floor, where the priority zones are and where employees need to be at.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

No, not really, although we do have fun and charity days where we can all come together have a bit of fun and raise money for our stores chosen charity

Why?
We all work as a team, most colleagues do social nights together, we all get on great and call work our primark family. Lots of ways to improve yourself through apprenticeship and primarks pathway. You will never be bored, always something to be done
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Primark?
Be open to learning different roles in the workplace, you get a lot of satisfaction from completing your role and helping colleagues and customers. Apprenticeship and in store learning is available if you decide you would like to learn more.
