Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work in the Central Ticket Office at West Midlands Police. We process speeding fines known as Notice of Intended Prosecution. We interact with the public everyday to discuss their offences and this can be through email or calls. There are 3 phases for our training and currently we are on phase 2, moving onto phase 3.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot as its something different and exciting. We are constantly learning about new things which makes it enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills such as improving on my communication skills when interacting with my colleagues, and teamwork when working alongside my colleagues to aim to get the work done. The other apprentices and I get along really well and whenever we need any support, we are always there for each other.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I believe this apprenticeship is well organised. Once a month we have our apprenticeship meetings with our apprenticeship manager and she goes through what we learn for our business admin course and sets us our assignments. She is always really helpful and is always there whenever we need support. Regarding our relevant training for the job role, it is based on 3 phases which outline different aspects of the job. We always get support from our trainers and are there when we need help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive support from my employer whenever I need it, however I also ask for support from other staff in the office.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider, she is there when we need help and support and is there for us apprentices as a mentor. She is lovely and very supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Some of the assignments we are assigned are relevant to the job role, however some are not.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes there are!
