Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Early Years Educator. Providing the best care for children within our setting. Teaching them life skills. Changing nappies, supervising toilet training, meal times.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I fully enjoy it. I don't deny that it was difficult at times, as I work 40 hours a week and have a child at home. But it's all about time management and the will the continuously develop and learn.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learnt so much, and 50 words just isn't enough. I'm more aware of children's development within the early years. I learnt how to communicate with colleagues, parents/carers, outside agencies.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
All in all really good. The only minus I would say is that my development coach needed too long at times to mark my work, which set me back.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot. I was one of the few learners within our setting who hardly needed any support, but if, they would offer full support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Once again, I hardly ever needed supported, so if I asked for it, my training provider would get back to me straight away.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Massively. I was able to go into depth with what I learnt and discuss this with my development coach. Furthermore, due to own research and reflection, I was able to build up on what I had already learnt.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
No

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Busy Bees Childcare to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it is an easy way to gain one's qualification. Work and study. Best thing ever. And it combines theory with actual work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Busy Bees Childcare?
To not just keep tabs on their learners but development coaches as well. As mentioned it sometimes took too long for my development coach to mark my work which set me back.
