Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Development of cloud-based automation solutions to improve client's CI/CD processes. Implementing features and fixes in DevOps tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins etc. Technical lead on multiple initiatives spanning different functions across the project. Management of configuration aspect of releases, ensuring various components flow correctly into production.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy most aspects of my program, the support from the Apprenticeship program is exceptional, with your manager truly focused on ensuring your personal and professional development.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I am continuously learning, my project entrusts me with a wide range of work allowing me to grow not only my technical skills, but also my soft skills, allowing me to engage and deliver directly to the client, as well as encouraging me to take on new experiences such as pitching solutions.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured, with clear routes defined of how you graduate from the program and join the mainline business.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support, both from my apprenticeship manager and those on my project. On my project I am trusted to deliver and am treated like any other colleague rather than an apprentice (although there is always help available if needed).
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The University organise per-trimester catchups to ensure we are progressing fine in our role and our employer is giving us adequate work to cover the workplace-learning allocated credits for the course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I very frequently notice cross-over from my academic learning in my day-to-day work. My workplace learning allows me to put my academic learning into industry-context, while my academic learning allows me to apply models/techniques to approach my work more methodically.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of communities available for apprentices, as well as organised socials, networking and learning events.
