Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
My role involves talking with my director and sorting through CRM tools for housekeeping and helping design packs for bids. Sometimes I get additional work to help with marketing or event planning. I don't have a project, most of my work is back end and I have little responsibility.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I have support from CGI on a monthly basis, little support from the university and had not much opportunity in CGI to add much value to my skills as an apprentice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
1/5
Developed my skills in reporting, analytics and communications. Haven't acquired new skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It's a clear structure planned out from the beginning of the academic year. However, these dates are changed frequently.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
Could be more but it's not nothing. Support in terms of monthly calls and access to a network to help with assignments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
We have lectures at the start of each module but little communication from the university and not the best support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There is a lot but not in my area.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend CGI to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good pay, good benefits and good work/life balance. However, I would not advise joining as a degree apprentice, due to my own experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
Make sure to pick a specific career stream.
