Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I get to work at 8:30 and I either sit in the classroom and learn modules for the whole day with brakes but in the workshop I will be working on different tasks involving metal and I use different tools and machines to complete the tasks. In the classroom I take notes in a book and revise them when I’m home.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme since it’s a great way to gain experience and knowledge in the workplace. I have learnt various skills in the workshop and classroom to help me in the future. I enjoy the company of my peers. And the managers are very supportive and helpful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Lots of new skills have been learnt in the workshop such as knowing what tools I have, how to use them and how to keep care of them. These skills will help me in the future since I will now know how to operate the tool. Time management and cleanliness has also been improved in the workplace since it needs to be handled correctly

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Good organisation with the learning. The tests have enough time to revise for but the resists are a bit rushed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support if I need it and it’s helpful
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots of support by resource group if needed and the resists are good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I am not sure
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Some meet up for a meal at restaurants but the younger ones like myself aren’t invited since we are underage. But I don’t mind because I’d rather go home
