Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves planning the project I am on. It requires me to record and update our master programme with progress, manage our short term planning software, used by site managers and create reports that are shared throught the project team to show our PPC utilising PowerBi.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot, especially the work I do, everyone on the project team is friendly and collabrative. I enjoy the planning team, allowing me to always be learning but enjoying my time. The whole project team containing high performing people motivates me, allowing me to be fufilled at the end of a work day.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed so many skills from communication managent, scheduling management, budgeting, resource control and management through the VoW, contract management, understanding of the construction methodoliges and procedures and functions. Aditionally, I have built skills in leadership and quality management.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well organised with a lot of support from the training provider, but also my manager, ensuring I am hitting the requirements for my programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot of support, whether it is for my programme or when doing tasks. For my programme, my manager will ensure that I do what is required and everyone on the project team is open to help me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They support me a lot, with instant response when help is needed for an assignment. We have EPA reviews to ensure I am heading in the direction to achieve my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It allows me to learn content that I will have to translate in real life, allowing me to understand different roles. An example will be quality management, where I will learn what to do from a theory base, but will have an assignment to implement it into the workplace. This allows me to understand various roles and their purpose on my project and build my network.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, I have been part of a planning forum network arranged by Balfour Beatty to allow me to communicate and network with planners of different experiences. I am part of Early Careers Programme cohort, which requires me to attend half day calls where we will collaborate doing tasks, but most importantly is the 2 times we do residential brathay trips allowing me to meet other apprentices and graduates in the company.

Great wage. Also such a vast company where you can build your network but everyone is wiling to support you.

Just be yourself and having a passion in the sector you are going in will give you an advantage.
