Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I serve customers either at a desk or on the advice bar, help them with queries, get them sat down with an advisor, or book holidays/excursions/car parking for them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I love it - when its busier, it can be a bit stressful especially when there is no one available to help, but besides these busy periods, my colleagues couldn't be more helpful with anything I may need help with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have definitely improved on my customer service skills, as well as my skills on using the wide range of systems we need to use on a daily basis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very organised - things are planned in advance, and I am made aware of anything I will be attending months in advance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from TUI, my manager, my apprentice coach, and all of my colleagues. They all assist me with whatever I need help with, and I know that if my colleagues in store can't assist, there will always be an answer on KnowHow, Teams, or I can call through to the relevant teams.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of support. For example, I told my apprentice coach I am aiming for a distinction, and she has begun marking my work at the level of a distinction so I can hopefully achieve this in my EPA.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It teaches me the full ins and out of the business and what systems I need to use and know about, as well as the general customer service skills I will use every day in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I haven't been involved in any yet since I only started in September and I believe most of the events are in the south (closer to head office), meaning it would be difficult for me to attend.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend TUI UK & Ireland to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They are a supportive business, with amazing employees who are more than happy to assist with any issues you may have.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?
Just be yourself! TUI has a 'Come as you are' ideology towards it's employees/potential employees, and so as long as you can show up and complete your tasks to your highest standard, that's okay! Again, just be yourself and I think that at least some experience in customer service and using computers (even just for school) will be the best tools to assist you in starting a role at TUI.
