Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Running Unilever's D-Commerce online stores such as Amazon & TikTok Shop. I am responsible for the daily running of these stores ensuring the process in place is running smoothly while mitigating any potential issues that could effect the selling of Unilever's products. I also run the returns process, invoices and PRIME account on Amazon. I work alongside internal teams within marketing and supply chain, as well as external teams from TikTok, Amazon and the warehouses we have contracts with to store our products.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme as I believe the study and work hours are well balanced.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Definitely- I have gained insights of the different operations across the supply chain function, allowing me to develop the skills and understandings of how the whole process works.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Not too organised- different apprenticeships are structured differently even if everybody is on the same degree course. Your apprenticeship is structured differently depending on what function you are in, for example marketing is different to supply chain.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots of support- our line managers are very understanding and always want to push us to help us develop our skills and understandings of business.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots of support- we have tripartite meetings every 10-12 weeks with both our employer & training provider to discuss any issues and our development within the workplace and at university.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Very much so- all content we are learning allows us to understand the inner workings of a business as well as different individual roles and responsibilities within the office- especially the ways of working.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes- there are lots of things always going on at Unilever. Unilever loves networking events and anything that involves fun!

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Its a great business to join to understand the running of a business and to gain the experience needed to help kickstart your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Research the business prior to the interview process as it shows you have taken time to look into the business to see if their ethics match with yours. Also always be open to new possibilities and positive and very much so a team worker!
