Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We attended focus talks with different departments in the firm and gained a detailed understanding of the types of work the firm gets involved in and the firm's clients. We were also able to get involved in real tasks given to us by the departments we were sitting in. There was also a legal advice clinic workshop and a group task which kept us busy if there were any periods without work or other activities.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was interesting to learn about the different teams, how the seat distribution and qualification process works and the different roles available in the firm. It was also interesting to learn about how the different departments interacted with each other and referred work to other departments in the firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed my teamwork skills through working together with my fellow vacation scheme students on the group task and legal advice clinic. I have also built my professional skills in working in an office environment with lawyers of all stages and backgrounds and helping out with real legal work.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was really engaging and friendly, and nearly everyone in the firm was willing to give their time to speak to us or train us on a particular topic or point of law.
