Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
For my role as a project manager I am involved in leading team meetings, ensuring actions are tracked and completed on time. I have also been keeping track of and calculating project progress. I have been involved in the engineering side of the business and have been helping to ensure quality for different sites as well as doing some analysis tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed my time so far a lot and have been able to meet lots of great new people and learn many new things which have benefited me within the workplace and also outside of the workplace. I feel like I have been supported by those around me which has given me more confidence with my work and to take on new challenges.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt new technical skills within the workplace. I have developed my leadership, teamwork skills and have also developed my abilities to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders. I have been able to improve my time management skills and ensuring I am staying on track with the projects I am working on and I have learnt how to use various tools to help me do this.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I believe my programme is well structured. By having a weekly study day it allows me to put work aside and focus on my university work and not fall off track with that side of the programme. By frequently learning the theory of project management through my modules I am then able to apply my learning to the workplace which is another positive of how the programme is structured. I also think it is very beneficial the way that the placements are structured and that you go to a new team every 6 months because it allows you to figure out what type of work you enjoy as well as being able to learn many different skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. There are many different people I can go to for support such as my placement manager, line manager, mentor or early careers team as well as other colleagues. I feel as though everyone is focused on my development and a very willing to offer me support and provide me with new challenged and opportunities to further develop.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I feel like I have a good amount of support from my training provider. I am provided by many different resources to support me and I also have support from my Tutor as well as others I can go to if I need to.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I believe that my qualification helps me perform better in my role by giving me a better understanding of how projects work which then allows me to apply that to the projects I am working on and I can understand what stage my project is in it and the direction it should be going towards. It has also benefited me when I am team meetings as certain things are discussed which I have learnt about through my qualification and that then helps me understand what is being discussed during the meeting.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
My work offers different extra-curricular activities such as social activities which you can participate in and find out about on our internal company page.
