Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role can be very varied from day to day. On some days, I could be on teams calls with clients and stakeholders of a project. On other days, I could be in the office in workshops, or out on site. Around this, I could be creating project documentation, slide decks, interpreting data, and communicating with stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy the programme. I am lucky at how supportive early careers and the business are in regards to apprenticeships. Colleagues really value apprentices, and they create some fantastic opportunities for us. We also get to rotate around the business every 6 months, which is great for understanding how the business operates as a whole, but it also helps us identify where we may want to move into the business after the apprenticeship. We have regular development days together as a degree apprentice community, and we all support one another.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have development a significant amount of skills during my degree apprenticeship. From soft skills such as confidence, communication, presentation, listening, and problem solving to project management specific skills. I have significantly developed during my apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very structured and organised. We rotate on 6 month placements moving across the business, with the possibility to see any area of the business that we can apply learning at University too. Scheme leads oversee the programme and help support us with our pathways, and early careers provide support around development and opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer. They help me pursue opportunities across the organisation, and really value apprentices across the business. Early careers run development days to support my growth, and they are always there to help with any problems and advice. We also have fantastic company benefits through E.ON including access to private healthcare, wellbeing partners, and leisure schemes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive good support from my training provider. The course is structured, and they have been very good at preparing us for any major milestones in the course (such as the APM PMQ and our end point assessments). There have been problems with staffing and a huge variety in the quality of teaching, but in general they have been very supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification significantly helps me in my role. I have learnt a variety of project management methodologies that I can apply straight into my role like project planning documents (Gantt charts, work breakdown structures, communications plans), communications, project finance, governance etc. My role also helps me apply what I learn in practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a variety of extra curricular activities you can complete in. Outside of your role at work, we have a range of diversity networks which employees can join, support and get involved in. The networks run events which employees can attend. Outside of work, we are a very social community, and we meet up for social activities on a fairly regular basis.
