Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Currently in B2B finance placement. A lot of my work involves scheduling calls/contacting people, getting the info I need and then inputting into spreadsheet. Hybrid working, usually come in when I have meetings that can be done face to face.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Almost everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and made me feel welcome which has contributed a lot to me enjoying the programme. Great support networks too.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Technical skills on excel. Improved soft skills and communication.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
For the general structure of apprenticeships here, there is a 6 month placement rotation which seems to be a good system. However, this is the first time they've offered an Accountancy and Taxation scheme so naturally, the structure was slightly unclear to begin with. Despite this, with the support of Kaplan, the structure has become more clear as we've progressed and I imagine for the next intake, my experience will act as a guideline.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We are given mentors and buddies who we have frequent contact and catch ups with and there are also people from the early careers team who we have 121's and regular contact with. My placement manager also acts as a support network for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We are given a talent coach from our training provider (Kaplan) who we have calls with every 12 weeks to check we're on track. He also lets us know he's happy to answer any questions we have via email.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It will depend on my current placement and what module I'm studying. For example, in my current placement it is difficult to apply the financial accounting concepts I've just learnt but I know when I do an accounting based placement it'll be very useful. On the other hand, other modules I may study in the future like management accounting could be useful in future placements.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are frequent meals and social events involving the wider team I'm in as well as social events with the other apprentices. There are also lots of opportunities to go to networking events.
