Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day to Day jobs can vary as the apprenticeship is often guided by what you are interested in. But mainly you will be in the labs preforming new pack testing. However depending on what rotation you are on you could be dealing with brand, Prototyping and new developments. The best way to describe the Apprenticeship is you will get to experience next to all the steps in the product of new packs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme a fair bit as my mentor has done a good job in ensuring i am in experiencing all aspects of the apprenticeship whilst ensuring i am involved in jobs at work where i am interested and can grow from.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt lots of Skills such as how to conduct testing so that the results are valid, improved Prototyping knowledge and formats as well as developed soft skills such as better communication and presenting.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The Apprenticeship is pretty well structured with University timetables being sent at the start of the year and rotations being planned ahead by a few months.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We Receive quite a lot of support from our employer such as being able to be flexible with University assignments giving us time to complete these as well as people who have moved to work recieving a sum in our year to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We recieve a fair amount of support from the University, however alot of the work we do is from the office as the apprenticeship has 1 week at uni on site every 2 months. So our main support comes from the workplace unless we Email our tutors. Overall Good Support
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
They have definitely helped me as it has allowed me to think of packaging as not only what we put our goods in but how it can affect people with different dexterity issues.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are clubs and extra curriculars you can join. However As a team there will be plenty of opportunities for team build activities, team meals out as well as volunteer away days.
