Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

• Establish links with Private Sector Landlords and assess their suitability and promote the advantages of working with the Council for both homelessness prevention purposes and discharge of statutory duty into the private sector.
• Work with applicants to assess their suitability for the Private Rented Sector and ensure that they are fully aware of their responsibilities as a tenant.
• Match applicants with appropriate properties and liaise with the landlord.
• Complete a suitability check for new properties.
• Meeting deadlines to turnaround a property in a timely manner.
• Check in/Checkout inspections.
• To develop links with local support services
• To manage own caseload, write reports, correspondence, prepare statistics and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor existing tenancies and get involved in mediation with Landlords and tenants if necessary.
• Negotiate with landlords to bring them board with LET schemes.
• Complete full affordability assessments with prospective tenants.
• Maximise incomes and signpost for further support for financial independence.
