Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Carrying out day to day activities towards the efficient collection and billing of Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, and Housing Benefit overpayments across Ipswich Borough Council, Babergh District Council, and Mid Suffolk District Council. Dealing with Rate Payers enquiries over phone and email.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoyed the Team Leader Level 3 program. The learning was made interactive and interesting during the in person workshops which really helped in retaining the information. Recording and creating evidence logs for my portfolio could get a little repetitive at times though, although this was mostly my own fault for not doing this as I went!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
During my apprenticeship I developed my organisation and time management skills including learning new techniques to ensure I am efficiently using my time. I have also developed my presentation and communication skills by completing numerous professional discussions and giving multiple presentations which I don't usually have the opportunity to do in my normal job role. I also gained knowledge in the theory and practical application of methods of leading a team, developing and motivating staff, working within project groups, change management, and controlling and allocating resources.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The start of the programme was a little unorganised and it felt like we were thrown in without an adequate explanation of what we needed to do. I gave this feedback during the course though and was advised this would be changed for future apprentices. Apart from the start the program was well organised and structured.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a great amount of support from my employer during my apprenticeship including them finding specific work I could do to ensure I was creating the evidence needed for my portfolio and giving me the time I needed to work on my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Learnmore provided support every step of the way. Their mentoring and support was invaluable in keeping my working towards the completion of my apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has given me confidence to apply for further job opportunities. It has also helped my organisation and efficiency in completing work. I has also given me further insight into myself and my preferred ways to learn which will be invaluable in my future development.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are some get togethers outside of work but these are mostly team based. Any events for all staff are advertised across IBC.
