Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Project manage various construction fit-out projects for occupiers within Central London. Includes overseeing budget, coordinating the design team and resolving client issues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Where the modules were relevant, they were enjoyable - however some modules i.e. maintenance management had no relevance to my role. This became tricky as from my view, the module required prior knowledge to help support your assignment, so I found I was behind from the beginning and having to put in more work to bring myself up to speed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Client management, communication, problem solving. Having no construction background, I also learnt how to create and read a programme, have understanding of mechanical and structural equipment / elements.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Good - I liked the fact it was flexible as the majority of the times classes were within the working day meaning I was unable to attend.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots - I had my weekly study leave day to allow me to study - however work commitments usually got in the way. Instead, we agreed to have the week of prior to assignments - to maximise efficiency and enhance focus for assignments which was much more suited to my working methods.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
It was dependent upon the lecturer, some were much more forthcoming than others.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
As previously mentioned, where the modules were relevant they hugely helped my development as I was a non-cognate and had no prior construction knowledge. The course gave me the background I needed to complete my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Our team does monthly socials and the team are always up for a drink after work. We have a football, running and netball team and we are also doing the London to Brighton charity cycle. Numerous networking events also.
