Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Virgin Media O2 to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There is so much flexibility, support and choice with an apprenticeship, especially with the one’s offered at Vmo2, as it I think our apprenticeships take a much more practical approach to learning. Also, you get to focus on training for a specific career and learn you trade by actually doing the job, through gaining hands on experience and having such amazing opportunities to apply your skills within your role immediately. Apprenticeships have been proven to have a really popular success rate for many, and this is the very reason to why I applied for a project management role at Virgin Media.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Virgin Media O2?
The most important tip I have for assessment centre’s and applications is to be yourself. These applications and assessments centres are not made for you to feel stressed and under pressure (as much as it feels like you should be). Instead they are made for you, so that you can show off what amazing skills and knowledge you can bring to the table and why you’d be the perfect candidate to the role you have applied for in the business.
- Be thorough, but not to thorough within your applications (keep CVS under 1 ½ - 2 pages long)
- Show / tell the business what skills you’re capable of, and match these skills with the job description (sell yourself)
- Make sure to include all the specific / necessary information you need (GCSE results, personal statement,
- Make your application easy to read
- Use star method (Situation, Tasks, Actions Result) when given a real life example that demonstrates a skill that you need to use in a scenario
- Involve others as well as yourself in the group assessments to show team work
- Showing that your brave, real and together:
- Brave - We’re Brave. Bold, creative, accountable and innovative – stepping up and speaking out when it counts, taking risks with a true challenger spirit and always doing things the right way, not the easy way.
- Real - We’re Real. Honest, authentic, respectful and open – doing what we say we will, putting ourselves in our customer’s shoes, telling it straight and giving everyone a voice!
- Together - We’re Together. Supportive, empathetic, agile and inclusive – celebrating our differences, recognising each other’s achievements and using Team Play to help up adapt fast and win as one.
- Being straight up, having red hot relevance, insatiable curiosity
