Overall, how would you describe your experience at Virgin Media O2?
My experience at Virgin Media has been very positive. The company fosters a collaborative culture where colleagues are always willing to help you. Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, there are lots of opportunities to engage in meaningful initiatives that drive impact, making it a rewarding place to grow both personally and professionally.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
In my first-year role, I worked as a Management Accountant, where I was responsible for key financial processes including month-end reporting, posting journals, and performing balance sheet reconciliations. This role helped me build a strong foundation in core accounting principles. In my second-year role, I transitioned into a Finance Business Partner position. This role involves leading budgeting and forecasting cycles, conducting month-end activities, and presenting financial insights to stakeholders. It has enhanced my ability to communicate financial performance in a clear way.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

When you join as a finance graduate, you receive a joining bonus. You also receive incremental pay uplifts for every CIMA level you complete. There are other benefits such as really cheap WIFI bundles and cheaper phone contracts!
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

You get lots of opportunities to develop as a young professional - both softer skills and more technical. The rotational nature of the grad scheme also enables you to see lots of different areas of the business.
