To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm really enjoying learning new things and seeing that how I am as a manager is how managers should be. I don't enjoy online sessions as much as class room sessions as they are less interactive

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Communication is quite poor, the tutors are not as tech savvy as they could be which can be a challenge. The 2nd year timetable has not been finalised so that I can plan leave and the rest of my year and 2025. Nothing has been communicated to update us and staff are quite hard to get hold of. For the fact that we also work there is no consideration of this at all
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I changed roles 3 months after the programme started and so it has been a little challenging to have a review with my line manager but this should happen soon.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They provide as much as they can as some are part time but again I find class room sessions much more valuable than the sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the more I learn the more confident I will become in areas that I feel less confident.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes but I need to feel comfortable in role before I can support others in some of thr networks that I want to join

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
No
Why?
Barts health has a long way to go with diversity and I wouldn't wish some of the things that I have been through with no support on anybody else. It quite appalling and is only just being challenged but I have been there more than a decade and it's really slow to make changes.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Be strong, seek support and be brave enough to speak to somebody you trust when something that happens isn't right.
