Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role as Production Team Leader is to lead a team of employees. The objective is to ensure a weekly plan is delivered as efficiently as possible whilst working as safely as possible and with good manufacturing standards. I am also tasked with ensuring there is enough manning whilst managing everyone's holiday. It is also in my role to undertake performance management and any disciplinaries that may come from that.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I found the programme difficult at times as I do not enjoy the remote learning side of it. I like to be able to learn face to face or on the job. Although having said this I have still learnt a lot of new things that will help me to progress and improve.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to prioritise and manage my own time more effectively using different techniques. I have also learnt the importance of building relationships with different stakeholders within the business.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
As this programme was heavily sided to remote learning I feel it was well organised and gave the flexibility to learn when you can. The full programme of learning was set out at the start so that helped to plan in advance when things needed to be completed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I think the support was there from my employer in regards to giving me the time to do the required work but I feel they could have checked in on my progress a bit more often to see if I was happy with how things were going.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I probably didn't use the support from the training provider as much as I could have or as much as I know others on my course did, but whenever I had questions or needed a bit of help they were there on the end of a phone or email to help me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel this qualification was very suited to the role that I am currently doing. Although there was quite a bit of the learning that I felt I already knew, going through this qualification has given me the tools and techniques and also the confidence to implement them in a much better and more structured way.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Before the covid 19 pandemic there was more things to get involved with such as a rowing club, a football team that got to together quite regularly but since covid this has reduced quite a bit. Although I feel like more people are talking about getting these back so hopefully in the future more social activities will return.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Premier Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Premier Foods is a company that has a clear vision for its future and is constantly investing in the people, the infrastructure and innovation to ensure the business is also one step ahead. There is also a really good culture around I&D, health and safety and allowing people to express themselves.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Premier Foods?
Do some research about the company and the specific site that you are trying to get a job at. Have a look at the company's mission and vision statements and see if this fits in with your own beliefs. If you get an interview, then just yourself. Let your personality shine through and I'm sure that will be enough to get the employer thinking you are the right person for the job.
