Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a chef who focuses mainly on the larder section of our kitchen. Sometimes I will cook on main section and other times I will plate for my chefs. I also focus on desserts during service as well as the prep side of desserts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to manage my stress during service, communicate with my team, how to control a kitchen, the paperwork that is needed to run a kitchen, how to manage stock and pricing and many other things.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very, there is a structured way of making sure you keep up with the programme, which ensures you aren't behind (this helps when you're having a busy period at work).
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much as they can provide, they help with travel to my chef academy classes, provide support with any extra information I need, they encourage me to try new things.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
A lot. They ensure to check in when I'm falling behind and provide me with support to ensure I am able to catch up, they provide me with any extra information I may need, such as extra classes to dive deeper into subjects that I'm a little bit unsure about and they go the extra mile to help build my confidence when it comes to the end of my apprenticeship, knowing that I will have an exam and a professional discussion.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think it has helped me massively. I am able to perform my daily tasks more mindfully knowing how important mundane things such as labels, cleaning and paperwork are. All of this helps to make sure I am keeping myself safe in my practises and daily tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many social events at my place of work that help me to become closer to my colleagues and also help me to enjoy being at work more. It also helps when it comes to networking as I am occasionally introduced to people who may he good to contact further in my career.
