Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Completing Site work and updating trackers related to the ongoing work on site. This includes materials, personnel and plant equipment. Also help out with other roles such as quantity surveying in spare time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The program is good but has some slow patches where not much work is provided and can be left bored. I have taken that time to find ways to improve myself such as focusing on future uni work or new skills though.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My planning skills have significantly improved along with teamwork as I work with new teams on the regular and have to learn to work all towards one goal. Also been offered loads of training to constantly improve

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured as planning is very important to the project. Plenty of meetups with managers to talk about what else I can be doing
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots my employer always finds way to offer help or support if things aren't going right.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They give me what ever time I ask for or need towards my uni work
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Lots. Applying the knowledge from university into the job role really helps to further my understanding
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are but due to personal reasons I haven't been able to partake

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Balfour Beatty to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Feels like a very good company to work for with loads of learning opportunities and good managers
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
Be yourself. Don't try to impress with knowledge or grades show them who you are and what you like to do. They see everyone talking about their university work but they want to see what you are like as a person and if you will fit into the team.
