apprentice quantity surveyor Review

I mainly write monthly progress reports or go on site, tracking both physical on site progress, and also contractual obligations such as planning conditions, building control adherence, monthly cost drawdowns and other things that make up a project,

i was confused at the beginning at how it all works but having worked with it for some time, its actually well organised and easy to operate in - 4 days of work and 1 day (friday) of studying for the degree

if i ask a question i will usually get a prompt and useful answer, sometimes in a company the size of ours i can feel a little pushed to the side and left to my own accord but to be honest sometimes i appreciate it and other times i dont so its just a balance that i am okay with at this point, they have alot of documentation that really explains anything if you ever needed help too

they hold meetings every 1/2 months to check in and ensure everything is going the way it should be, i feel as though if i did need the support id be able to get it rather easily through my apprentice outcome officer, i am confident id get the required help however as of this moment ive not had to use this as ive managed to handle everything that has come at me thus far

it definitely helps - when i am on site or writing reports i will see things that i have directly learnt or heard about that certainly gives me a better understanding of my actual day to day job so the university work is definitely helping my journey

Yes

they are helpful and they have all the resources you could ever need to get into a workplace, ive not met one bad person within the staff and they all understand i am an apprentice and people like to help me out
