Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is is to be partially responsible for overseeing projects for the organisation; it involves attending meetings and managing potential risks, budgeting, time management, liaising with diverse teams and clients and assisting with the delivery of the project results.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the experience I gain from each project and the skills and experience I develop along the way. I enjoy the learning journey so far and it is very helpful how the modules end up linking/overlapping with what I am learning from the projects I work on.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to be more adaptable to situations, as sometimes in this role, a lot of unexpected situations can occur and change the responsibilities and deadlines of the day and project itself. I also have developed my skill to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracies and the quality of the project is up to standard.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

As said in the previous question, I feel as though the modules end up overlapping with what the projects I work on and it helps me gage a better understanding on what I work on while actively implementing it and I am also able to talk about the modules and even certain case studies I work on with co-workers that have more expertise and can help me better my understanding.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am happy with the support that I can get from my employers as they do care about the 20% of off the job work I do towards my degree. they also encourage me to gain as much support as I can and if I express my struggles towards project leaders if i need to reach a deadline, I can let them know and they let me work and reach that deadline and lessen my load if it is overbearing for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive support by being able to communicate of my work overload is too much and if I feel it needs to be lessened I have the right to communicate that and for my work load to be lessened if requested.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like my qualification will provide me with a strong foundation for the role of a project manager and provide me with enough information to better my drive and outlook toward working on projects. I believe it will make me more confident and secure in this line of work and my learning approach going forward in my career; as policies and regulations will always update and my learning approach now will help me to be able to adapt in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, we do have social networking events such as dinner or even activities like bowling or darts with the teams we work alongside when we hold face to face meetings. We also have charity days to help our communities as much as we can.

Would you recommend Arcadis to a friend?

Why?
I think it's a diverse place to work in and you are never shy of a new interesting character that you will meet and work with or for along your job journey. I believe that I am gaining so much experience from being here that I would recommend others be able to gain some wisdom and exposure too. I would also like to learn from that advise and wisdom and be able to depart that onto the younger generation some day when I have become more established in my career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arcadis?
I would research and prepare thoroughly, research and understand Arcadis' core values and achievements before applying, to see if you could see yourself meshing with the environment here. I would also be prepared and make sure to have some experience with workloads and be prepared to adapt to unexpected shifted timelines, deadlines and scenarios - especially if this is your first proper job.
