Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Manager of a team of up to 15 and a function (Recovery deployment) in Service Delivery- the deployment centre at The AA. Responsible to the day to day running of the operation. contact centre alongside other managers on my colour team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme and i get on well with my tutor. I previously completed a level 3 course where there were more face to face group sessions. I find those useful because in my role I do not often get time out of the operation to complete my work. If there were group sessions planned I would be guaranteed some days to concentrate on the course.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, the apprenticeship really helps to develop your people management skills and open your eyes up to other business areas, e.g. finance, project management. I have found it particularly useful in my personal development, being self aware enough to see where I need to continue to develop and work on those areas. I have done my current role for 5 years, and this that it would be quite easy to get comfortable and become stagnant, however this course has driven me to push for better and develop my skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well structured
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive support from my manager. She regularly checks in and sees where I am with it. It is difficult in my role to get time away from the operation to get my work done, so I have given up a lot of my free time to do this. I don't mind this though, and I have been able to claim TIL for this.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots of support from Hardip, my coach. She has done many mock exams with my for my EPA and has arranged 2 mocks with her colleagues so it would feel more like an actual EPA.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel like it has allowed me to see the bigger picture and a more higher level view of the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
not often
