Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day role is aiding DHL in the procurement activities of my specific contract, this includes sourcing, contracting and resolving customer issues. Every friday is a study day to help towards my CIPS qualification
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy it massively, the vast majority of people I work with are always willing to help, and this scheme seems to fit my personality.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
My people skills have massively improved as well as the necessary job related skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It varies, internally it is well organised but sometimes feels like a lot of focus is on degree apprentices, externally with my training provider it is very organised with a lot of support given.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I get lots of support from my manager and team, less so from the wider business
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
There is a lot of support but learning wise the sessions are limited and could be more frequent
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
By allowing me to fully understand what I need to do in each stage of procurement and why certain areas are done a certain way.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
This varies from site to site, my site not really. Also some different business units have a good induction for apprentices, but this really varies with some not doing anything at all.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend DHL to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Everyone I work with is nice and friendly, and there are lots of oppurtunities to progress
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DHL?
There is a big push to network, whilst this is important, I would say its better to have a small network who respect you and know who you are and that you are good at your job, than just having a large network, just prove yourself by being hard-working
