I'm a software engineer. I currently work as a applications support analyst. I support various teams with bugs, challenges and issues they may be facing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm really enjoying the programme as we are given an opportunity to shadow various senior leads, I am equipped by doing various training courses that are paid for and covered. I receive lots of help from my team members.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have developed lots of skills. I have done training on Unix command lines, learnt how to move data files in the database and use SQL when using database.

I receive lots of support from them, there's lots of sessions to help us with our understanding if needed.

I receive lots of support from them as they are able to guide me in the right direction with any project work, assignments or any questions I may have ect.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me better in my role. When I am in university it's quite a bit of practical work and I get to see that transferred in my day to day role at CGI so I enjoy it when the work I do at university has a crossover at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

CGI has lots of social activities that you can get involved with, from go karting to food markets, ski resorts ect. It's endless.

It's a great company to start your career in tech. You get lots of support and help on your journey, there are lots of people willing to help you and opportunities to get into to advance your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
Be prepared and curious about the role on both the technical side/business side but also be prepared to discuss about your soft skills and be relatable.
