Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day to day basis I go through new enquiries and triage them whilst also raising some of the quotations when having the chance, answering the phones and doing work for our business development mangers such as spreadsheets. On top of this I am making my way through my apprenticeship with doing tasks such as preparing for professional discussions with my tutor for out monthly visit and completing tasks she sets me (questions, development plans etc.).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Even though at times I feel although this programme and role can be challenging the people that I have to help me are very supporting and always offer a helping hand which makes me feel a lot better. Another point to note is that I am enjoying learning so many new skills and information despite there being a lot to take in,

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Coming into this job I have gained A lot of skills all whilst also gaining new ones. My IT skills have exceled whilst being here and due to this I have been able to learn new skills within that such as creating spreadsheets and being able to successfully use the system CMP which is called IFS. During this time I have also been able to gain knowledge on the products we sell. Another skill I have gained is understanding and executing formalities of emails and the way to speak to different members of staff but also customers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
During my time doing this programme so far I feel as though every thing has been very well organised but not to structured so that I feel overwhelmed with the plan ahead. This could also be due to me having a lot of responsibility within the programme so it is up to me to be organised and to keep on top of things and although I have guidance and help ultimately it is up to me to help myself. However overall the structure given to me I feel is very sufficient.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Overall I feel as though when joining this company I felt so welcomed and due to that I felt as though had so much support. Due to time I am not in need of as much support as when I started however I know it is there when needed and any member of this company would be happy to help me when necessary as they are also so kind and respectable to each other. One other thing that massively shows copious amount of support is having a designated person who trained me and sists next me so that I know that whenever I need them they are there.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider gave me a designated tutor which I see once every month where we will do something to go towards my portfolio and then she will talk me through wat she expects of me within the nest month and what we will be doing on our next visit. In between this visits I always know that I can email her with guidance on anything I may be struggling with which makes me feel very supported. My tutor is also a person that is very reassuring and make me feel as though the course is not daunting which is very comforting in my eyes.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Through my apprenticeship am gaining skills and learning more about the company seeing as all of my questions have to link back to the company however overall I feel as my job and my apprenticeship do not really fit hand in hand as I am not just doing typical admin for the company. However I am gaining knowledge on the company meaning that the apprenticeship does benefit my role in a way seeing as any knowledge gained about the company would benefits one role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Despite there being events that all attend to every now and again such as the Christmas party there is not really any events that get placed regularly after work that are not related to work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend British Engines Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe that this company is great to work for as everyone is so caring and generous when helping each other, there is also many benefits to the company such as winning various different tickets to events in Newcastle. I feel as though the company also recognises hard work and would always give respect when respect is due with pay rises, rewards and presents. Another factor I would mention to friend is the hours and how flexible the company which is due t them being understanding of how home life can effect ones day.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Engines Ltd?
I would say to people who are especially applying for a role such as mine or an apprenticeship to be open minded about your role and what is expected of you. Also to be willing to put hard work into your apprenticeship whilst also having a lot of on the job training and even though it is a lot of juggling from apprenticeship work to on the job training make sure to always stay switched on and concentrated as anything could be a learning opportunity that will help you long term.
